How to get a tourist visa to Vietnam?
Citizen from below 24 countries do not require visa to Vietnam:
- Chile, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Laos, Thailand, Kyrgyzstan, Philippines, Brunei, Myanmar, Belarus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Norway, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom.
E-visa to Vietnam
If you are not citizen of the above countries, just apply online and get the e- visa at
https://www.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/web/guest/trang-chu-ttdt

Visa fee: $25/ single entry.
Noted: If you plan to travel Cambodia and go back to Vietnam after that, apply for multiple entry is a must.

How to travel inside Vietnam? Public transport in Vietnam
Travel between provinces
In order to travel between different provinces/ cities in Vietnam,
you can use bus, train or airplane. The ticket price is reasonable for all of these options. However, traveling by train and airplane are safer than by bus due to Vietnamese poor driving skills.
Some airlines that you can consider for local flights are Vietnam Airlines, Jetstar Pacific, Vietjet, Bamboo Airways

Travel inside a city
City bus: it’s very easy to travel inside the cities in Vietnam using their local/city bus. The ticket price is only 0.2 usd for the distance less than 25km
Grab bike car/taxi: Download the grab app. If you travel alone, try grab bike to avoid traffic and save the cost.
Accommodation in Vietnam
You can be easy to get some cheap accommodation in Saigon center. Many foreigners prefer to book hotel/ hostels in District 1 (Bui Vien street) but in my opinion, District 3 is much better and safer with many attractions and restaurants around. Where to visit
Cu Chi Tunnel
How to get to Cu Chi Tunnel from District 1: You can take a local bus to visit Cu Chi tunnel. Entry ticket for foreigner is about 7Nzd. Bus ticket form 50 cents. Get on bus number 13 (7.000vnd/pp) form Ben Thanh market to Cu Chi bus station. Then take bus 79 or 63 ( 7.000vnd/passenger). Get off at Cu Chi tunnel ( Địa đạo Củ Chi- Dia dao Cu Chi).
What to do in Cu Chi Tunnel: explore underground Communist house and office, eat some steamed cassava, take pictures with real guns..

Dam Sen Water Park
Entry Ticket: 170.000vnd ( about 12nzd per person).
Locker service: 30,000 vnd ( 2nzd). The staff will help to put your bag into the locker and give you the key and the plastic tube to keep your locker key, money

Saigon Sense market is a new underground food court with many vendors who sells all kind of Vietnamese and foreign street food in Ho Chi Minh City.

Accommodation
Highly recommendation: Aristo Sai Gon hotel or Alagon hotel which have good service and serve really delicious food. Oh and don’t forget to check out Alagon’s swimming pool. You can check out their room pictures and rates here.
Shopping
Tops and dresses: Dang An Huong shop – 146 Le Minh Xuan , ward 7, Tan Binh district. There are also many shops opposite to this shop. I couldn’t remember their names, but they sell very cheap and beautiful shirts. You can get a nice shirt for under 100.000vnd ( about 7nzd).
Hand bags: Nguyen Trai street, District 5. Avoid district 1, it is bloody expensive or if you still wanna shop there (Ben Thanh market), remember to bargain 1/3 of the price that the sellers offer.
